This month’s charity, Charity Godmother, founded by Caroldean Ross, is a community group of supporters and survivors of Breast Cancer raising funds for not only breast cancer but for all cancers. Charity Godmother was the result of seven years of hosting and fundraising to bring help and awareness of breast cancer to local valley. It started with the Pink Party and then into the Sleep In For the Cure with Susan G. Komen. Charity Godmother is now local residents wanting to help the community and be able to reach out to all those that need the help and funds, not just one organization. Gregory Goodman, owner of My Little Flower Shop in Palm Springs, created Wedding Warriors in 2010. The organization has become Riverside County’s top networking group for wedding, special event and hospitality professionals. Their goal is to promote the Coachella Valley as a destination for high-end weddings, private parties and corporate events, and to provide a network of resources to destination brides and grooms with one-stop access to Coachella Valley wedding and event vendors.
The mission of The Wedding Warriors organization is to educate those interested in the wedding/special events industry, build strong relationships with related business people and give back to the community.
With new technology and fresh business paradigms, business contacts are developing more meaningful working relationships rather than idly passing business cards. Mr. Goodman saw that the growing community of Coachella valley event/wedding professionals needed to be nurtured and encouraged. This is how the Wedding Warriors organization was born. Now two years later, Wedding Warrior mixers have brought together thousands of people; both vendors and brides alike who are benefiting from this dynamic membership of wedding and event professionals.
Members participate in monthly mixers, help with group contests like 2012’s “Dream Wedding” and “Teenage Dream Quinceanera,” and attend industry lectures and continuing education events.
Wedding Warriors also stays involved with the Coachella Valley community by supporting charities such as Martha’s Village, Palm Springs Animal Shelter and The Narrow Door.
