History has it that part of The Villa Royale Inn Palm Springs was known as film star and Olympian figure skater, Sonja Henie as her residence in 1947. She had envisioned the property as Inn style so her guests were able to enjoy sun and fun in Palm Springs.
The building that houses the award winning Europa restaurant was home of her groundskeeper and wife that did cooking and cleaning. After she died in 1969, the owners that took over the Inn and Europa restaurant were Actor Tony Shaloub, wife Brooke Adams and Amy Aquino for 5 years.
The Villa Royale Inn is setting for small intimate weddings up to 100 people in a courtyard with water fountains and mountain views. Receptions are held either in Europa restaurant which has received 4 diamond awards every year or outside around the pool.
